Art Basel Paris Public Program
Lévy Gorvy Dayan, in collaboration with Xavier Hufkens, will present Thomas Houseago’s monumental sculpture Flower & Death as part of the Art Basel Paris Public Program.
Exhibited here for the first time in bronze, Flower & Death reflects on themes of vitality, mortality, and transformation that are central to Houseago’s oeuvre. Conceived in 2018 as a tribute to the artist’s late father, the totemic sculpture has since been reworked to depict a towering flower and a skeletal figure, signifying at once growth and decay, beauty and transience.
